-Class Descriptions-

All Level Super Stretch Yoga

Take this class to your own level of expertise!  All asanas are held allowing for personal exploration, and developmental strengthening.  Restorative, pranayama and meditation also offered.  Previous experience with yoga helpful but not required. ( Please…no serious injuries or chronic pain requiring extended one-on-one attention.   May I suggest the Beginning and Active Seniors or limited mobility class or contact Kimberly for information on private instruction if your limitations keep you from participating in this class. )

Yoga For Beginning Students and Active Seniors

This class is for the beginning, senior, continuing or active student with some limitations.  Basic breathing, meditation and restorative asanas are also offered during every practice to follow the flow and hold techniques offered by the Viniyoga tradition. This class may be especially useful for those with multiple sclerosis (without walker or wheel chair), uncomplicated chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, stress or injury related back, neck and shoulder pain or just a great place to begin your yoga experience.

Yoga For Limited Mobility

This class is experienced as your ability to move will allow; either in a chair, standing, while on the floor or all three!  Each asana will be modified to support the individual needs.  May be appropriate for those with hip, knee, shoulder replacement, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, heart disease, weight concerns and diabetes.   Because of the nature of this class, we do move slower and take time to facilitate getting up and down from the chair or floor.  Must talk with instructor before beginning class.

Mix-It-Up Gentle Flow for Advanced Beginners – Intermediate

This is a great flowing yoga class for those who are ready for a little more movement in their practice.  You can move a little fast or a lot slow, push it a little or chill a little, or somewhere in between as your need dictates.  This class is best for continuing yoga students who already have a handle on the basic asanas and are ready to link them together.  This class is not recommended for the physically challenged.

Candlelight Flow and Hold Yoga for the Intermediate+ Practitioner

If you are a practiced yogi who enjoys flow work, holding asanas deeper and longer, doesn’t shy from backbends or inversions and is open to receiving the great teachings of pranayama and meditation infused with Ayurvedic wisdom, then this is the class for you!   Yoga asana is a process that involves first and foremost the quieting of the mind. As flow classes require more strength, stamina and mental quiet than non-flow classes, I ask that beginning students and/or injured students not attend this class.  No matter how flexible or in shape you believe you are, trying to integrate new information while asking the mind to be still is like running a marathon over rocky terrain without shoes on.  We will be moving in a flow fashion then holding deep into poses based on your practiced knowledge of the asanas.  So… let’s share the wisdom and have some fun!

Private Yoga and Ayurveda Sessions

Ayurveda and Yoga sessions are offered as private consultations scheduled on various days and times.  Please talk with Kimberly directly about setting up your personal appointment.
